April/May 2012: What a busy Spring!

So I've been kind of slacking on updating the blog lately! Sorry! I keep saying "I really need to update the blog!" but baby girl keeps us on our toes, and with all of the nice weather we've been having, we have been trying to spend as much time as we can outside.  So I apologize if this update is long winded but I am going to try to put as much as I can remember from the last two months into this! So just bear with me through this one and I promise to (try to) update with a much quicker turn around from now on!
Abby gets more and more personality every day! She is at such a wonderful age! And she's such a silly little girl! She loves giggling and making people laugh!
She still loves to swing! Although now, she also loves running all around the playground. She is such a big girl and a climber, so bold and fearless (with sometimes scares the crap out of me since she just runs and climbs all over the place without much regard of how tiny she still is!). But she is so independent and comfortable running around, it makes me so proud! She goes to the park with Grandma and Far Far a lot and they say that everyone is always very impressed when they find out she's only 14 (almost 15) months old because she just runs around like the big kids trying to keep up! She even runs right across those bridges that bounce when you run across them.
She likes getting all dressed up and did so for Amanda Spaugh and Aunt Aimee's baby showers. It's going to be so much fun having so many babies up at the beach and around when we all get together! We can't wait to meet them both, or find out if they are having little boy or girl babies! So excited to be an Aunt and Chris can't wait to be an Uncle! It's coming up so fast, we can hardly believe it! (And I'm sure it's much crazier for both of them but we can't wait!)
Abby and I went to a Music with Mar class with Jackie and Kaylie. It was a very cute class, and will be great in the future, but the babies were a bit too little for it now. Abby just wanted to run around and do her thing, and is a bit young for guided instruction. So maybe in another year or two we will try again because, as I said, it really was super cute but just not for their ages yet!
We went shopping for birthday gifts for Tristan and Sydney and Abby found a little bag in the store and was carrying it around like a purse. She's such a girly girl! I only ever carry around her diaper bag/backpack so it's not like she ever see's me carrying a purse around, I guess some of these girly girl traits are just built in to her DNA haha.

She is becoming a great little helper already. Here she is "helping" Grandma wash some dishes. Haha she even had the washing motion down and everything! She's good at mimicking and repeating movements that people make. She also tries wiping her own face and hands when she's messy and has even tried to wipe up spots off of the floor. Such a sweetheart!
She also has fun helping to push carts around at the grocery store or other places we go.
We went to Tristan's second birthday party! She got all dressed up in Syd's old dress! She had so much fun running around and playing with all the kids.
She had her first experience in a bounce house, which was pretty much spent lying down the whole time while I tried to bounce her by pushing on the outer part of the little house. She did seem to like it, but I think she'll like it a bit more when she's a little bit older!
She spent at least a whole hour in this little tikes car. She liked it so much Grandpa went out and got her one as a late birthday party (which she rides around in pretty much every day!).
She also got driven around by one of the little kids at the party for a while. She was a hop on (haha) and had a good time just enjoying the ride. She got pretty relaxed after a while and was just straight up lounging.
Here she is, just one of the kids! She wants to be a BIG girl so badly! All in good time baby girl.
All of this nice weather comes with lots of running around and playing outside, and that leaves such a little girl pretty wiped out! Some days theres so much going on that she tries to swear off a nap all together and just ends up passing out early around 7 or so, but if we can we try to take advantage of some down time and get her out when we can! She is a very strong willed, independent (and stubborn) little girl, so she only goes down when she wants to, regardless of how tired she is or how hard we try!
She spent some time with her bestie Payton! They are just sooo stinking cute together! Abby kept giving her big kisses and hugs and Payton eagerly awaited them :) They love each other so much and it is very very cute.
Payton even tried on her moustache that we got at Chris' work party last year (we grabbed a few extra last year because we thought it would make for a pretty funny photo shoot haha). Soon we'll get pics of them wearing them together but for now here's Pay being silly!
My Aunt Barb found a bunch of really cute little baby shoes on sale and bought them for Miss Abigail, including a super cute pair of little cowboy boots! It's been too nice for her to wear them all the time but I'm hoping she gets a few more opportunities to wear them before she outgrows them!
We switched her over to a big girl carseat in our cars. It was kind of bittersweet, but she really likes her new seats, as you can see. We had gotten one at our baby shower for her, but we bought another one so we had one in each car and decided to get her a nice pretty pink one. She'll be in it for a long time now so we figured, since EVERYTHING else we have is so gender neutral it'd be nice for her to have a pretty little seat that was just for her as she gets bigger.
Sydney turned 3 this month too! We went over for a fun party to celebrate! I can't believe how big she has gotten so fast! We went over to visit several times right after her birthday so the kids could play in their back yard. It was so nice that we took advantage of the weather and walked over. So fun to watch the kiddies all play together now that Abby is up and running! Abby comes babysitting with me every Friday and the little boy I babysit for has tennis lessons during this time, so we end up hanging out at the Village glen for 15 or so minutes every week. She just runs all around like she owns the place. There was a racket in the shop waiting to be restrung, just sitting on the floor, and every time she walked by she went in and tried to take it with her. I thought Grandpa would appreciate that she was so interested in it so I took a picture for him. It turned out a little blurry, but you get the idea!
She got to swing in a fun little car swing.
She ran around non stop during Aimee's baby shower and was all over the place, standing on coolers, climbing on chairs, etc. Needless to say she was pretty worn out when we finally got home. And so was Daddy.
Chris' dad got an awesome shot of her hanging out by their piano. Look at that little rock star! With all the music on both sides of her family, she's sure to have at least some natural ability :) gotta start em young haha!
She also took Dexter for a walk! It was a short walk, from my Mom's house back home, but she held his leash and walked him all the way home! She loves going for walks with the puppies, although she's normally not the one walking them, she's normally up in the Ergo. But if I leave the leashes lying around where she can reach them, without fail she always grabs them and carries them around and tries to place the leash on the puppies collar and then starts walking. It's very cute.
Let's see.. what else have we missed.. Abby ate some ghost pepper. Accidentally, of course. We went to a Cinco de Mayo party and there was an unmarked tupper ware container at the edge of the food table, which Abby had no interest in for the first 2 hours we were there. However, once she saw someone go and grab a couple of cookies from the table, her interest was peaked. She reached up for whatever was in reach and I wasn't able to move the container away from her ninja fast tiny hands and while I was moving the container out of reach to prevent any future grabs at it, she put her hand in her mouth. Needless to say, she was not happy. And at this point we had no idea how hot the what we thought was salsa dip was. So we all tried a bit and could not feel our mouths for about 30 minutes. Poor baby girl. She nursed like crazy and then ate a bunch of crackers, and was no worse for the wear. Oh but she did instantly poop in her diaper as soon as she ate it haha. (Sorry if that is TMI for some of you but it literally scared the poop out of her, poor thing.) On a more positive note, she is a little monkey and loves climbing on everything. She can get herself up onto the couch and chairs now and can even climb all up and around the big kid playgrounds. And she's a little dare devil with no fear, so she just goes for it. She also blows kisses now and waves and says "Hi" ("hah") to pretty much everyone she sees. She LOVES our next door neighbors, and the feeling is mutual! I'm met every time I come outside or pull in my driveway by Charlie at the gate asking "Abby home?" It is incredibly cute. I know I keep saying it but this is going to be such a fun summer with all the kids! Okay I will stop rambling now before this gets even longer yet, and if I forgot anything I'll just add it to the next update (which I promise will be shorter!)
