May 2012: Busy, busy, busy!

So in order to keep up on everything I figured I would update the blog on everything that happened through the end of May, and then try to go back to updating the blog monthly after that! We had a few busy weeks! We went to Cleveland TWICE, and had Anna's wedding shower, too! We drove down to Cleveland with my dad for our first trip. Chris sat in the back with Abby and said she was making this face at him for a good 15 minutes straight haha. Someone was none too happy to be stuck in the car for so long!
But once we got there, we had a happy girl on our hands! It had been too long since we last visited, so we were very happy to come so that my Grandparents, Aunt and Uncle, and Jamie and Tessa could see how much Abby had grown and changed! She had her first meal at Jimmy Dadona's. (Not her first time there, just the first time going that she was able to actually enjoy it!) And boy did she enjoy it! She loved her penne!
We didn't get many pictures from our first trip because we knew we were going to be back the following weekend, so we just spent our time visiting (and because sometimes we're just really bad at taking pictures haha).
The following weekend we went to Anna's bridal shower! It was so great seeing Ryan and Anna, and we got great news recently that they're working on moving back to Buffalo as soon as they can! Yay!! Abby and Payton entertained each other throughout the shower. There was also a very cute 3 year old girl there that seemed quite fond of Abby and kept trying to feed her goldfish. Abby didn't mind this, of course, but the little girl didn't realize how much longer it took Abby to eat them and wanted to give her one every few seconds haha. There was also an adorable 4 week old baby there, the 3 year olds baby sister, who Abby was interested in. She kept walking over, looking at the baby, and rocking the car seat that the baby was sleeping it. It was adorable.
We left for our second trip to Cleveland pretty soon after the shower, and this time we did a much better job at taking pictures! My cousin Jess was in town from California for my Aunt Jodi's retirement dinner, and we couldn't pass up an opportunity to go see her! It was a great weekend. We got to go see Jamie and Tessa's new house! And had a nice cookout at my Aunt and Uncles house. Abby slept through most of the cookout.
Once she woke up, though, she was back to running all over the place, and even got to ride on "Schlomo" (my Grandma's walker).
She really liked it! Here she is with my grandparents.
And my cousin Jess! It was so wonderful seeing her and catching up! We're hoping to take a trip out to California sometime this winter to visit, if we can!
And of course here she is with Jamie and Tessa, her wonderful godparents!
Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of Abby with my aunt and uncle, but they were there too! We were kind of rushing to get on the road so that we could get home in time for a cookout at my other grandparents house for Memorial day. On the drive home Abby was having fun wearing her sunglasses and being silly.
We went straight from Cleveland to my grandparents house for a cookout and some swimming. Abby is a little fish! She LOVES the water and kicks all over the place and jumps right in the water!

As you can imagine, Abby was pretty tuckered out after all of her traveling. It was a long couple of weeks for baby girl!
She continues to impress and amaze us with how much she knows on a daily basis! She is so silly and sweet! She loves books, but still doesn't quite have the attention span to sit through the reading of one, but it won't stop her from bringing it to you and sitting on your lap to ask you to read it. She loves putting her hands up to say "I don't know" when you ask her a question. She has conquered the playground near our house and loves going there. She even asks to sit on the "big kid" swings sometimes. She actually holds on quite well but I never pull my hands away to really test it. She wants to be a big girl SO badly. In some ways she seems so grown up, yet she is still such a little girl! We love her so much and can't wait to see what fun this summer brings!
