April was another wonderful, fun filled month! We went to the zoo, as we will try to do, every time the weather is nice out and we have a free day. The female lioness gave us a treat and came right up to the window while we were there! Crazy to see such a beautiful, large animal so close up!
Abby loves walking the puppies. Not just going on walks with them, but physically holding their leashes herself and walking them around the block. Here she has both of them at once! I know (most of) the key houses with dogs around us, so I make sure to take them back before then but otherwise they are really good with her when she is holding the leashes. Murf took off the one day and it took her down because she held on very tight to his leash and just ended up flat on the ground, but minus a little scratch on her finger tip, she was just fine. Lesson learned, though. She holds them for short periods of time and knows to let go when they pull too hard.
She got a free tutu (which she now tries to wear over her clothes everywhere we go haha). Our cute little ballerina.
We decided to re-paint her room! Since we are trying to make the transition (finally, I know) of her being in her own room sooner rather than later, we decided to re-do it in a fun little girl style! Uncle Joe came and together he and I painted the room in one afternoon and it turned out great!!
We have to wait three weeks to put the decals we bought up, but stay tuned next month for those :)
Our daily routine includes walking the puppies and then walking to the park any day that it's nice out. She loves accessorizing with fun hats and glasses. So silly.
This is what I got to push back from the park. She insisted that her baby ride back in the stroller, all buckled in. Good practice, I suppose :)
She also really likes sticks and rocks and collects them and brings them home from wherever we go.
We went to a Riverkeepers shoreline sweep. Abby's first of many I imagine! The weather was quite awful out, but we managed to have a great time with grandma and were able to pick up several garbage bags full of trash!
It was basically Earth Day the day of the sweep and there was a fun event over at Island Park that had little owls that we could go see. It was a fun filled day!
So you would have thought that our new french door fridge would have been pretty toddler proof... But you would be wrong! At least it isn't with Abigail around. She pushed her chair up to the fridge all by herself and opened the doors and dove right in looking for her yogurt and cheese. Too funny. Gotta keep a close eye on this one!
We went to dinner at E and Joe's house and Abby was a big helper. She helped make the lemonade, and some cookies, she just wanted to help with everything! Then she accidentally (obviously) stepped in dog poop (oh Lucy, silly puppies) while we were there and just lost it! She was running after the puppies bringing them a big candy cane shaped bone, and we just heard a thud followed by screaming. She had found the dog poop (with her foot), dropped the bone, started screaming and dropped to the floor on her back and rolled around like a turtle on its shell until someone came and helped her. Poor baby girl (pretty amusing, but she sure did not like it one bit.. but who can blame her!) But once that settled down she had a nice end to the evening drawing with Uncle Joe.
She had a lot of fun playing next door. Which is a very regular occurance now that the weather is nice. They all go back and forth between the two houses playing on all of the bikes and scooters and running up and down the street. So much fun.

These fun filled, long days wear BG out! She fell asleep mid-eating her cheese stick! There was a piece hanging out of her mouth and another on her shirt when I looked down at her after she clonked out in my lap. Too funny.
We went to the park with Dana, we see her whenever she doesn't have to work, and Abby insisted on wearing her backpack to the park.

We finally got to see baby Luna, the new Polar Bear, at the zoo! She is so cute!
And Abby discovered the dinosaur Bone Zone while we were there. It was actually really hard getting her to leave, she was having a lot of fun just sitting by herself digging in the sand.

She sings everything, all the time. She made up her own little song and sings it ALL THE TIME! It is hilarious and she just loves to entertain.We were going to get frozen yogurt the one day and it was chilly out, and as she always does in the car, she was taking off her shoes and socks. I simply said the phrase "No shoes, no shirt, no service!" to her and she somehow turned it into this fun little song. And she adds to it all the time. What a riot!
I found a cute maternity photo idea online and we decided to try it! The first one turned out great! We are going to take one every 4 weeks to see how both Abigail and my baby bump grow together.
Chris was making juice in the Vitamix and Abby said "too loud!" and ran away on her own and grabbed her noise cancelling headphones and put them on and ran back. So funny.
Here she is again with her tutu on under her dress. Seriously she would wear this tutu everyday, everywhere if she could. (Which we let her when she tries, just luckily she gets distracted easily on the other days haha)
Still her go to smile. She will take my phone and take around 30 pictures in about a minute of her feet. This was her trying to take her own picture. The girl knows her way around an iphone haha.
Auntie Christa Helped me out bigtime and watched Abby a few days for me. We also had a "Yay! Halfway!" party (to celebrate reaching the halfway through pregnancy point) which basically just consisted of eating a lot of really good food. The kids had a great time too haha.

It was another wonderful month, and the fun that nice weather brings is only just beginning! In other big news Abby is officially done nursing. Towards the beginning of the month, I just reached my breaking point, as she was over using it compared to her normal standard, and with the increased hormones from the pregnancy, it was just painful and not very enjoyable. So it made for a perfect ending point, and she took it better than expected. Sure, there were a few meltdowns here and there, but they were pretty isolated and sparse. Hopefully eventually the sleeping transition goes just as smoothly. One thing at a time! But she is just great. She will just go up to you, kiss you on the cheek, and say Love you! Ah, just melts your heart! She really is just the best and we are enjoying watching her grow and mature more than I could even imagine was possible! And I think she will be a wonderful big sister. She kisses, roars at, and gives the baby raspberry kisses every day, and won't let Chris leave for work without giving her, me and the baby a kiss. The best!!
