February 2012: And we have teeth!!! Oh, and Happy Valentine's day :)

February has been a fun month so far! And already quite eventful! But the biggest event of all is yet to come! Since I'm sure we will have a ton of pictures, videos, and stories from Abby's birthday bash(es), I figured it was best to update the blog on everything up to her big day! 

The Walking Dead started back up and our "Dexter" crew came together to watch! With a new member this time! It will be so much fun to see Eli every week to watch him grow! (And it's always great to see Omer, Denise, Amanda, and Bill, too, of course.) Last time they saw Abby she wasn't walking yet, so it was fun for them to get to see the progress she has made! She's becoming such a big girl (although, we realize she is still so small!!)! This is how our night started. They are so cute together! Murf had to come check out the lil guy. Once Abby woke up we brought her over to see Eli and she gave him tons of hugs and kisses. It was very cute. She was great and very gentle with him.

 

Abby taught herself not only how to push the home button on our iPhones, but also to unlock the phone, and now take pictures (and videos). Haha I always let her just carry my phone around but I think I'm going to have to watch her a bit closer now. Here is a picture she took of her foot. And the other day she called Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's house and had a nice little chat with Auntie Erin before Chris realized that she had made a call. Definitely going to have to keep an eye on her.

It was Abby's first Valentine's day! Crazy to think that she's still having a first holiday so close to her birthday! (Obviously since the 23rd is after the 14th it makes sense, but since I've been so fixated on her birthday it was like, oh yea! She was still in my tummy last year at this time!) Unfortunately Chris was out of town for it. He had a Panera Family Reunion event in Washington D.C. and was gone from Sunday February 12 until early Thursday February 16. Abby got dressed up in her heart outfit that my Aunt Barb bought her. She did not want to keep her bow on. Or get her picture taken. (Or she was just sad because she missed her Daddy hehe)

We got a surprise delivery! Flowers for Abigail! (And Me, but Chris had them sent to Abby, so the delivery guy came to the door with roses for Abigail Johnson haha) They were beautiful and we were very surprised and excited to get them.

Abby finally got some teeth! They are pretty hard to see here because they just popped through, but they are definitely there! 2 on the bottom center! Just over a week before her first birthday! (Which explains the fussiness from a week or so ago.)

 

I was lucky enough to get to spend most of Valentine's day with my dad! We went out to dinner at Bravo and our waiter brought over a plate of lemons for our waters. Abby took notice and kept asking for one (by pointing and opening and closing her hand). I wasn't planning on giving her one, but what's the harm? Good thing I had my video rolling because her reaction was priceless!!

She had a long day and was pretty tuckered out by the end. I think she's ready for bed!

 

Abby also learned to ask when she wants to nurse (as opposed to just pulling my shirt down and going for it haha) by saying "Milk" (which really sounds like "Muh"- a combination of Milk and More). It's really cute and sweet when she does it, and is certainly more appropriate than her previous way of communicating that she was hungry. She uses a similar sound when she wants more of something that she's eating, as well, but with a different tone. I love that she's learning effective ways of communicating with us! I tried feeding her a bit of chicken and sweet potatoes for dinner the last night Chris was away. She was going for it at first, but then I went to put the dogs out, so they wouldn't eat all of her food, and came back to her chicken being thrown about all over the floor. I guess she was all done! Silly girl!

Then the three of them took a little nap together. This didn't last long, though. Abby was pretty quick to wake up after I put her down, but it was cute while it lasted!

We went over to see Christa, J, and Syd. They seem to have most Friday's free, so it's been working well to get together then, which is great to see them all at least weekly (when it works out). Abby and Sydney had fun playing with all of her toys. She kept trying to send us home with the toys Abby expressed interest in. It was super sweet. Syd would bring something over and say this is for Abby for Abby's house. If I would have taken everything she brought over, Abby would have nearly doubled her toy collection haha. What a sweetheart! Oh and she was wearing her Abby shirt, which was also very cute.

Sydney got a car seat for her doll for Christmas, and the kiddos thought Abby looked like she was a perfect size for it, so they set to work putting her in. Abby was a great sport about it and was very patient as they went to work strapping her in.

Abby started to get a little fussy towards the end and Auntie Christa came to the rescue!

By the end of the afternoon she was quite tuckered out! Such a sweet, sleepy girl!

She got all dressed up in her Sunday best. Great Grandma and Grandpa Ford got her this pretty red dress as an early birthday/valentine's day present. Such a pretty dress!

Being a baby is hard work! Wears a girl out!

She had fun playing on a giant bean bag at EMS. Such a big comfy chair for such a little baby.

She had fun trying on my boots. She went into the kitchen, picked one up and brought it to Grandma, sat down, and put her foot up to tell her to put it on her. So silly. It was very funny to watch her try to walk in them.What a goof!

Only one more day til the big day!!!! I can't believe she is going to be one! Growing up so fast! Let the celebrating begin!
