June 2012: Summer fun!

So June has come and went (for all intensive purposes, at least) in a flash! This month has flown by! Probably because we were so busy and the weather has been so nice. All Abby wants to do is play outside all day long. In addition to that, she had fun trying on Far Far's hat
And has been very interested in whatever we are eating, which is fine now that Abby can pretty much eat whatever we eat. Here she is trying to see what Daddy is eating.
She also started opening her mouth like a baby bird when she wants you to give her some of what you're eating. It's very cute.
Charlie and Everett came over to play. I put Everett in Abby's crib for a minute so that I could change Abby's diaper, and then all Abby and Charlie wanted to do was go in it and play. Neither of them have ever really been in a crib before so all they kept doing was jumping up and down. For the sake of the crib I took them both out to go play in the other room, but for the first time ever Abby was yelling to go back in instead of yelling to come out.
So she hung out in there for a minute or so by herself until she decided it was time to come out and play.
We hung out with J and Syd and played in their kiddie pool.
And went to the park with Auntie Tracey and Payton. They are still so cute together and Pay is getting so big! She's a pro at standing now. Can't believe she'll be one in a few weeks!! They're getting so big so fast!
Abby has been coming with me babysitting pretty full time now and she wants to be a big girl so badly. She sits at the table and tries to ride the tricycle like a big kid. She really wants to be like 3 years old and be able to do everything all of the bigger kids do.
She LOVES shoes. Like seriously loves them. I went to DSW to look for some sandals and she just kept picking out random pairs of shoes and trying to put them on. It was very cute until I tried to take them away to put them back and she was none too happy about it! She is too funny.
We went to Eli's baptism! Abby spent the whole ceremony sleeping on Daddy haha. Which made for a much easier and quieter ceremony. It was very nice and we were so glad to be a part of it.
The rain held off for the after party, too. It was a perfect day for it! Abby and I lounged on their hammock and she had a lot of fun playing with all of the other kids that were there.
We went to the zoo for their annual Member Appreciation Day! We met our neighbors down there so Abby was very happy to walk around with her friends. They were actually all holding hands but of course once the camera comes out...
We walked all around the zoo.

And spent some time in the rainforest exhibit. Abby loved the bridge and looking down on everything from the upper level.
She even saw a peacock up close and personal until some other kids came and scared it away. It was a great time, though, and we will definitely try to go back to the zoo with the whole Schiller clan soon!
Abby and I went and had a cookout with Auntie Rachel. We didn't end up going swimming in her pool, but we had a lot of fun eating and hanging out in her backyard.
Abby kept picking all of her pretty flowers, though. So we figured might as well get some use out of them! Our little flower child!
She had some fun with Daddy's slippers. She actually managed to walk around quite well in them! I'm telling you, the girl can't get enough of shoes of all shapes and sizes!
We went out for dinner with my dad since we're going out of town for a week and on the way back home Abby was sitting in her carseat like this! Such a silly girl, and future gymnast? Chris kept trying to move her leg back but apparently she was quite comfy like that because she kept moving her leg right back to this position! So funny.

We've had a lot of fun at the newly rebuilt Heim Elementary playground, too. It's a very cool and modern park. Abby loves running all over the place, but she makes me quite nervous when she's up on the big kid portion so I try to encourage her to use the more age/size appropriate part when I can. Which doesn't always work, but I still try!
She has been going through a very clingy phase which started nearly a week ago now where she wants Momma and to be held or she is not happy. Unless of course you can manage to distract her briefly with food or other children or toys or the playground, but it doesn't always work and even when it does it tends to be fairly short lived. Our little crazy stubborn independent little lady. She is great, though, and continues to expand her (small) vocabulary. She says "hi" and "bye" perfectly now and at appropriate times while waving. It is rather adorable. She is still always on the go and doesn't like napping unless she is absolutely utterly exhausted. And even then it sometimes takes the car ride home from whatever we're doing to get her to sleep. Either that or nursing, but hey, whatever works. We are heading to Wolfe Lake up in Canada for a week and we can not wait for Abby to be back there since she will now be able to really enjoy it! Hope everyone has a great 4th of July!! I'm sure we will have some great pictures and stories from our much needed vacation for next month!
