August 2012: The end of a wonderful(ly busy) summer

First off, I have to start this post with a video from last month because I forgot to add it to July's blog post. Abby went through a phase in early July where she talked like an alien when you tried to stop her from doing something she was set on doing. It was the funniest sounding noise ever. Isabelle and Charlie loved it too, they would keep trying to hug her and do things when she wasn't in the mood to get her to make the noise and all we could all do was laugh!

August was another super busy month, so this post is a little long, but also awesome, so read on!
Abby had her first real bounce house experience at Gia's third birthday party, and needless to say, she loved it! She couldn't get enough of it and pretty much spent the entire party playing, bouncing, and somersaulting around in it. It was a lot of fun to watch
We went to JJ and Syd's baptism. She spent the church portion the same way she did at Eli's baptism.
She had a blast at the after party, though! JJ and Sydney's cousins were there so there were lots of kids to play with. She was off playing with them for hours! She also loved their amplifier and had a great time "singing" into it haha.
We took several trips to the zoo! Abby had a great time! She's at such a good age to go now because she seems to actually enjoy looking at all of the animals. She loves the rainforest exhibit.
And of course the carousel! We had a lot of extra carousel tickets that we had to use up from our membership passes, and she couldn't get enough of it!
My Uncle David was in Cleveland visiting, so Abby and I took a trip down with Grandpa. This trip, as you will soon be able to tell, I was very good about taking pictures, which certainly isn't always the case! But I ended up with some great shots of our silly girl. Abby had fun trying on Great Grandpa's slippers.
And hanging out with her Great Uncle David.
And boy does she love her Grandpa, too!
We went to the park while Grandpa went to visit his dad who was in the hospital at the time. He luckily is home and doing better now! And she loved the swings, as per normal. She does surprisingly well hanging on on the big kid swings!
Such a big girl!!
She got to spend some time with her godfather!
And pulled a Marilyn Monroe on Jamie and Tessa's air vent haha. Her skirt was flying all over the place! And she said the word "blueberry"while we were there. Like perfectly. And of course hasn't said it again, it was a one time deal, but Jamie and I both heard it while he was washing some for her, and we stopped mid track and were like what?!!

More fun hanging with Jamie!
She tried on his gloves and became a baby burrito in their yoga mat, too. Such a silly girl!

She also tracked down and hugged their kitty. She wasn't a big fan of it, but was a good sport about it! Abby also climbed all the way through their kitty tunnel, chasing the cat (unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it) which was quite amusing!
When Tessa got home from work, the four of us took a walk to the park! So much fun, and so sweet. Abby sure loves her godparents!
Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye! Big hugs for Great Uncle David and Great Grandma!
As soon as we came back we went right to Auntie Erin's bachelorette party! Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of this occasion, but Abby had a great time at her first bachelorette party! Then we were back home again. Abby went next door to play with her besties. Here she is on their porch waiting for them to finish lunch so she could play!

The next day we had Auntie Erin's first wedding shower! (I wasn't kidding when I said we had a very busy summer!) So we got all dressed up for the occassion!

She even made a friend at the shower! She had a great time running around and hanging out with the other girls that were there. She even got to see Gia again!
All of that running around all day made for a sleepy girl! She didn't quite make it through the whole shower before crashing for a snooze on DeeDee's couch.
She woke up in time to play in Uncle Paul's fancy hot rod!
Cousin Norah was in town for the shower(s) too! She is already getting so big and cute. Abby loves her baby cousin! She kept patting and kissing her. Such a sweetheart.
Abby turned 18 months this month! Crazy! Growing so big so fast! Hard to believe she's a year and a half already. She spent most of the day with Grandma on her actual "18 month birthday". They played with water and had a nice picnic.
She even drew us a picture while she was at Grandma's house. All by herself. Love it!
We hung out with Payton, who is walking all over the place now! They are just too cute together, getting so big so fast!
Abby and I went to Bill's 30th birthday party at Omer and Denise's house. It just so happened to be on Chris' birthday, but he was otherwise occupied with Ryan's bachelor party. There were 2 kiddie pools AND a slip n slide. Oh and grapes (Abby's new favorite). So needless to say, she had a blast! Just one of the girls!
The next day we had Auntie Erin and Uncle Joe's second wedding shower! She got all dressed up again and was even kissing her own reflection. So vain haha.
The shower was at a park out at Clarence and was a lot of fun! Abby had a great time playing with the other kids that were there, and even had some fun playing with water balloons. At the end of the day we got to take her out into the field to let her watch the balloons fly away.
We met Grandpa for some FroYo on the way home. We can't get enough of that stuff! And neither can Abby haha.
We also got a bike trailer! Abby was already making herself comfortable in it. I have a feeling that this thing is gonna get a lot of mileage before we're through with it!
Abby also LOVES brushing her teeth. She figured out that if she stands on the top of our bathroom garbage can, she can reach, and turn on the water in the sink. Can't turn away from this girl for a second! But it's fun to watch her brush her little teeth as often as she can.
She got frustrated eating her eggs with a fork and started eating them by just putting her plate up to her face. Don't know where she got that from, but it was pretty funny!
She is talking up a storm now and runs everywhere she can. More and more words by the day, it's pretty incredible! And she understands EVERYTHING! Miss Abigail is just more fun by the day. And she seems to have grown out of her separation anxiety phase. Just like that one day she snapped right out of it and just said "Bye" and waved to me when I took her to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Hopefully that sticks! Also, we converted her crib into a toddler bed and moved it into our room to see if we could start the transition of moving her into her own bed. So far she's been doing pretty well with it, at least for the first chunk of the night. Slowly but surely. We're also trying to familiarize her with the potty, but it's not going so well. She loves sitting on it and reading books or doing puzzles, but she's still a bit young and not quite ready. It will come with time when she's good and ready. That's all of note that I can think of for now. September promises to be a bit calmer, but equally exciting! Ryan and Anna's and Erin and Joe's weddings and Abby gets to be a flower girl! Can't wait!!
