September started on a big high note with Tracey and Adams wedding! (I made it!) I spent the night before the wedding with Tracey in the mansion where the reception was going to be, and I tried to explain to Abby that I was going to spend the evening with Auntie Tracey and that she would see us tomorrow at the ceremony and the best way I could think of helping her relate was to tell her that Auntie Tracey was going to be like a beautiful Queen and I was going to be one of her Princesses and she would get to see us looking all dressed up in our gowns the next time she saw me. I got to walk Payton down the aisle and when Abby saw me she yelled "Mommy!" Which made Payton yell "Abby!" And then Abby yelled "Payton!" It was very adorable. The whole day was wonderful and beautiful and we were just thrilled for the happy couple and thankful that the baby waited long enough to let me be a part of their special day!
We got our last Abby & Mommy belly shot and it is one of my favorite pictures ever. She is just the sweetest.
She made a new friend at the park around the corner! We went out to walk as often as we could to enjoy the nice weather and get some fresh air, and every time there was another little kid there to play with we were both very excited that she had someone to play with.
Abby saw her very first movie in a movie theater! I had put it in to my head that I needed to make it to the wedding, that once the wedding came and went and the baby was still not here we got to spend a bit of extra Mommy/Daddy/Abby time before we became a family of 4. Monsters University was playing at a small, cheap theater by our house and we figured an early afternoon showing in an empty theater was a great way to see how she did! She seemed to love it and was great and engaged. A fun first movie in the theater!
Finally, in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, September 13, it was time to see if Abby was going to have a baby brother or sister. She very consistently said that the baby was a boy throughout the whole pregnancy, and would say that whenever anyone asked her what mommy was having, and we would soon find out if she was right! We ended up having to leave to go to the hospital while she was sleeping the way the timing of everything worked out, so when she woke up mommy and daddy were gone and grandma was there waiting for her.
Before too long we were able to call and tell her that she was finally a big sister! Brennan Murray was born at 8:15 am 9/13/13! She was right! She got to come meet him and hold him and was great and intrigued right from the start!

We were only in the hospital for two nights, but that is the longest amount of time she has ever been away from us. Even though she got to come visit multiple times, by the end of our second day in the hospital she was ready for us to come home. She had had so much fun with Grandma and went to Great Grandmas house, and even got to have a fun play date at the zoo with Auntie E and Uncle Joe and their friends son who is right around her age, but she couldn't understand why either she couldn't stay in the hospital with us or why mommy couldn't come home yet. Chris went and spent the second night at home with her and she was able to come back with him the next afternoon to bring Brennan and I home.
Now we could finally take pictures of Brennan and George together with all of their siblings!

Abby loved Brennan so much right from the start! She always wanted to hold, hug, and kiss him! She did not seem to be jealous at all, just truly was enamored by him. She would also be holding him and say "take our picture!" Breannan is a very easygoing baby and would sleep in his swing on his own, which certainly helped make the transition easier. And I had a very smooth delivery and recovery which also helped. So Abby and I were still able to spend a lot of quality time together and read all sorts of books and walk to the park when the weather was nice.
Once we were settled in, we went for a walk. I put Brennan in the Ergo, and therefore Abby had to run and grab her Ergo and her baby doll to take with her too! She wouldn't go anywhere without her own baby and Ergo for days. So sweet.

You can just see the love in her eyes when she looks at him. He is a lucky boy to have such a great big sister!
She is a big helper and needs to be a part of all of his diaper changes. She is great at picking out clothes and PJs for him, and will make sure he has his pacifier in and is rocked and happy.
Uncle Dan came to visit and Abby tried on his sunglasses and he took this gem. Straight up chillin'.
By the end of the month we even got to take the double stroller out for a spin! My Uncle and Aunt from Boston were nice enough to give us their old sit and stand double stroller which was a huge help! Our car seat fits right in the front and Abby has a great time sitting in the back. We are so grateful to have been given such a helpful gift that will get so much use!
What a fabulous month! The initial transition from 1 to 2 kids could not have gone smoother for us, and we really hit the jackpot with them both! We can't believe how blessed we are. Abby really seems to love her brother, which is great because it's the first thing anyone asks her, and you know toddlers, they always speak their minds with no filter so it's very nice not to have to worry what she is going to say when asked "Do you like your little brother?" She loves showing him off to everyone and seems very proud to be a big sister. It took her a long time to be able to either remember or say his name, though but happy to say by the first week or so she finally got it down!
