So I know I said I would probably only do 1 update every month but it seems like so much has already happened this month and we aren't even half way through! So to make sure I don't miss anything (and so that the January post isn't super long) I figured I would split it into 2 parts.
Abby went to Bread Bash (Chris's quarterly work meeting) this month. Abby and I have gone to every one since she's been born because his workers keep requesting her presence. This is probably the first one she really should have gone to because she was finally old enough to roam around and have fun instead of just eating, sleeping, or fussing because we weren't home. When Chris originally asked if we were coming I said I wasn't sure and asked what he thought. He said "It's not up to me," which I assumed meant it was up to me, but no, he then said "It's up to my workers." Needless to say we went, and she was great. At the very beginning of the meeting she was walking all around (with the help of holding on to my fingers) all the while growling and roaring. She was quite the distraction, so we had to go to the other side of the store where her noises were less noticable. She was in great spirits the whole time, and even got to try some Panera bread while we were there (which she loved).
It was finally cold enough for Abby to wear her new snow suit. However, the little snow we got didn't last long enough to use the new sled she got for Christmas. It was less than 10 degrees the only day that there was snow, so we certainly weren't going to go out in that. Hopefully we'll get some snow before winter is over so she can try it out.
She also finally fit in the Gap suit we bought last year before she was born! Here is a side by side of what she looked like in it last year. Crazy what a few months can do!
After the crazy cold days it got unseasonably warm again so we took a trip to the zoo! I already had plans to go with my mom and right as I was going to call Auntie Christa to see if they wanted to meet up there, she beat me to it! Great minds think alike! We even got to see the baby Gorilla! JJ didn't want to get in any of the pictures, but we snuck one of all three of the kiddos. It was a lot of fun because Abby was old enough where she was interested in looking at the animals and seemed very curious. Can't wait to bring her back when she's even older and more intrigued by them all.
She snuggles more lately and gives hugs. It's very sweet.
She's also made a lot of progress towards walking in the past few weeks. She's getting very bold and brave! She'll even pull up on something and take a few steps away from it on her own now. It has been such a wonderful and interesting process to watch. It's crazy how many steps go into her gaining the confidence to stand and then take a step and now try to walk.
She also started waving this month. If you say "bye-bye" she will immediately start waving. Here she is waving at Murf.
We're still trying to get her to nod, unsuccessfully. But she sure does love to shake her head!
Denise and Omer had their baby!!! Eli Omer Bitar was born January 10, 2012 and 4:22 pm at 6 lbs 7 oz. He was 3 weeks early, and Momma and baby are doing great! He sure is cute! We are so happy for them and can't wait until Abby can meet her new friend!
