October 2011: All Dressed Up, So Many Places to Go!

This month Abby had a lot of fun discovering new things and embarking on new adventures! She discovered toilet paper. The puppies blew her in, though. I was in the bedroom with her and she crawled to the bathroom. The pups started barking like crazy and when I went to investigate I saw her pulling at the toilet paper roll and shredding the paper. Looks like the puppies are a bunch of tattle tales, which is good for us!
She also discovered stairs. Luckily for us we live in a ranch, because she was quite intrigued by them.
We went out looking for a Halloween costume for her. We almost bought her a pink cat costume because we thought it would be funny if she were a cat and we put her next to the puppies, but it just looked too much like a fox. So we went a different route..
We took many trips to the park. Abby's love for the swings grows stronger by the day. She would kick her little feet and squeal when you pushed her. She just had so much fun. Good thing we live so close to a park!
It was Auntie Erin's 30th birthday this month! We took a trip out to Becker farms to celebrate. It was nice to get together with everyone to celebrate! She even wore her "I love my Auntie" onesie for the occasion. We also made an apple puree for her to try at the party. I think the apples were a tad tart, but she liked them nonetheless!
We went to Selma's first birthday party this month and Selma and Abby were quite fond of each other. It was very entertaining to watch. And exciting because it's the same age difference between Payton and Abby, so in a few months this could be them!
Abby got bold this month too and started walking with her walker. She was so proud of herself! And we were so excited to see her on the move!
She got all dressed up in Bills gear to support the team (back when they actually looked like they were going to be good... we should have known better!).
 She napped with Daddy.
Abby tried banana for the first time this month and had a very different reaction than she did to the avocado. She loved it!
She also went to go visit one of her friends, Sydney. Syd loves Abby. It is super cute how infatuated Syd is with her and I'm sure one day Abby will share that feeling, right now she's just too young to even know what's going on. But they are very cute together and when they "hang out" that means Auntie Christa and I get to hang out, so it's win win!
She was finally big enough to wear her fun purple hat (that Chris hates, but everyone else loves so she wore it quite often). She had a lot of fun playing with some ball pit balls. So much fun, in fact, that we decided to get her some of her own for Christmas!
We downloaded some Disney soundtracks this month in preparation for when Abby will enjoy singing and dancing to them. Turns out she already had fun dancing to it!
We went to Matt Kandefer's 60th birthday party and they tried to give her to him as a gift. But we didn't let that happen. We would miss her too much.
Abby also got baptized this month! It was a lovely ceremony with our family and some of our closest friends. Abby did great, especially considering she woke up right before the actual ceremony part. We had a nice brunch afterwards to celebrate with everyone. It was a great day.
The next day was Abby's first Halloween! She got all dressed up early in time for breakfast with Grandpa Ross and Jamie and Tessa who were still in town from the baptism. She looked so cute in her puppy outfit. The dogs weren't quite sure what to make of her but they did great, too.
Grandma and Grandpa Johnson got their driveway repaved on Halloween and asked if we could put Abby's hand print in it. I did my best but I think it was a little too dry to get a great print. But we got her name and date in their at least.
While Abby and I were out at work Chris worked on his costume. They make a great pair, the little dog and the fire hydrant. He did a great job and is hoping to wear it again next year. Abby wasn't too sure what to make of his costume. We tried to get a classic "puppy lifting leg on hydrant" picture but she was not really having it. Oh well, we tried, and overall she did great with the costume and wore it way longer than any of us would have thought. What a great sport.
What a fun, eventful month!
