January 2012: Eleven months old, gotta keep on movin'!

January has been a very fun filled, busy month! Baby girl turned 11 months old this month! Crazy how time is flying by! And each day truly has been more amazing than the last! She is a crazy walking machine now! But let's recap! We tried Abby's Sabres jersey that Uncle Ryan got her on. She has plenty of growing room in it, but it looked great! (If only the Sabres could step it up for her to wear it for!)
Our next door neighbors had their baby! Baby #5, Everett Alexander, was born January 15th. We got to meet/hold him and he is absolutely adorable. It was so sweet to see his older siblings interacting with him, too. It will be great since Abby is right in the middle, age wise, of Everett and Charlie. We joke all the time that we hit the neighbor jackpot! They are such a great family and it will be so nice for Abby to have playmates next door! We also went to visit Eli again! Abby finally got to meet him and she was very sweet with him. He slept peacefully the entire time we were there. He sure is cute! We also went and visited Auntie Tracey, Uncle Adam and Payton. Payton is 6 months old now! Crazy! She is getting so big and is so vocal and sits on her own now. Abby had fun "sharing" with her and "talking to" her.
Sometimes Abby gets a little up close and personal, but they are super cute together now that they are both at interactive ages! And the older they both get, the better it will be! They will be the best of friends :)
We also discovered this month that we are raising a bag lady. Haha. She walks around carrying her bucket of blocks and miscellaneous toys. She would be content for hours just taking laps around the house taking things in and out of containers. It doesn't matter what kind of container or what contents. The other day she tore up a napkin and put all of the pieces in her bucket to carry around with her. Too funny.
It finally snowed enough to take Abby out on her sled. She seemed to like it. The puppies got a kick out of it too. Luckily for me (not so much for her) Auntie Christa was visiting with JJ and Syd during the first big snow storm we had because their trip to the Strong museum got cancelled due to weather. We apparently have a crazy snow drift along the side of our house and there was about 2-3 feet of accumulated snow along our house in our driveway. And maybe a dusting elsewhere. Thank goodness Christa was nice enough to stick around and help me shovel while Abby slept and JJ and Syd played in the snow. I didn't get a picture of the drift because we were too cold and focused on shoveling, but it was pretty crazy.
Grandpa Ross and I tried teaching her to nod, since she loves shaking her head so much, we wanted to get the nod going too. She kind of got it. It was so funny she would just throw her head all the way back. We were lucky the back of the highchair was high enough that she wouldn't slide right out backwards.
She is legit walking EVERYWHERE now! We went over to Auntie Erin and Uncle Joe's for dinner and she was doing laps all over their apartment. She's so much fun, and she is so proud of herself! And she's finally standing up on her own too without the use of a wall/furniture. Such a fun process to watch!
She had fun playing with the puppet Uncle Joe and Auntie Erin got her for Christmas. She was giving it kisses. She also had fun being tossed in the air with Daddy. She's going to be a little dare devil. Even when she goes down stairs, she just pushes off and slides down as fast as she can on her tummy. She just loves it. (Once again I don't have a video of that because I'm always too concerned shes going to roll down the stairs. You'll just have to take my word for it!)

Abby also very much enjoys playing with all of her baby bullet food containers. She more recently had fun putting it in and taking it out of our toaster oven. Chris sent me a picture of one of the containers in the oven but I had to see the video myself to believe that she actually kept putting it in and taking it out. How silly.
Abby high fives now, too. It's her new party trick. She no longer waves every time you say "bye bye" but she is consistently giving high fives when you hold your hand out to her!
We also went over to Karen and Brian's for dinner. Abby wasn't too sure what to make of Liam and Tristan. They're a bit older and higher energy than she is. But it was quite entertaining to watch her observe them. We had a family sleep over at Danielle and Brian's for Brian's birthday bash, too. Erin and Joe watched Abby for us for the first part of the night, and once I went and got her she slept all night long! Such a great month! Can't believe we have less than a month until baby girl turns 1! And with the progress she's made in the last few weeks walking, she'll be running before we know it! Oh, and still no teeth yet! Maybe next month..
