After she woke up, we had to construct a shaded play area for her since she was still too young for sun screen. She played with Sydney, and we went for a swim in the lake. It was a fun day!
The next day we went to Wolfe Lake! She did great on the drive down. She slept most of the way and played with her keys until she threw them on top of her head haha. Once we got there we got settled in and went to say hi to everyone and enjoy the view.
The puppies and Abby were right at home. They love Wolfe lake too. Murf swims up a storm. And so does Abby!
Abby finally got to try out her inflatable shaded fish inner-tube. She loved it and it worked great at allowing her to safely float around while still being out of the sun.
She had a lot of fun eating her feet. Our new umbrella stroller sure came in handy walking around Westport and between the cabins. We also discovered that Abby loves plastic spoons. Just the spoon. No food needed. It was a great distraction for her during meals to allow us to all prepare the food and eat together (most of the time).
We all snuggled on the couch and had fun playing with toys
Abby told Dexter some secrets and then took a nap on Daddy. And even took a nap on her own in her pack n play. Like once. For about 20 minutes. But we'll take it!
Silly Daddy. But one of my favorite pictures. Too funny.
Great Grandma Ford hung out with Abby while I ran down to help Aunt Barb down at her cabin. She mostly slept the whole time but it was a great help!
Grandpa Johnson (Far Far) came with Grandma Johnson for a few days, which was great! After they finally found the cabins (after being lost for over an hour) he came and gave Abby a ride around the cabin. We all went swimming the next day before they had to leave to go back home.
Abby went on her first boat ride! She looked so funny in her little life vest and we rode really slowly around the lake, but it was still a lot of fun to get her out on the water.
She was worn out after a long week. We came back to a sleepy baby after Grandma Ford watched her so that we could go jump off of the cliff for a bit. Then we went for a dip in the lake before it was time to go. Abby stayed true to our tradition of daily swims in the lake and seemed to love every minute of it! Can't wait until next year!
When we got back home Sydney and JJ came to visit again.
Abby is slowly catching up in size! She also showed them how great she is at sitting on her own! She is getting stronger by the day.
Abby had lots of fun with Daddy getting ready for bath time, and then took a nice nap on him while he read. That trusty exercise ball works every time!
She finally showed interest in books and seemed quite interested in hearing a story (although it didn't last long). I'm sure a love of books will come with time, she's still a bit too young.
She went swimming at the Cone's house, and Chris came to visit and cool off. We asked Matt to grab him a towel and he came back out with his old bear towel. It was quite amusing.
Grandpa Ross got me a jogging stroller as an early birthday gift and Abby seemed to really like riding in it. Unfortunately, about a week after I got it there was a crazy heat wave and it was just too hot to go running. But I'm sure it will get plenty of use soon.
Our silly girl still has problems falling asleep on her own, so more often than not she ends up falling asleep on Chris or myself, and if we're lucky we can transfer her. But mostly she sleeps on us.
The next day we all went to Great Grandma and Grandpa Ford's house to show Uncle Dan how much Abby loves the water and spend some time with them, as well. She would get her little legs kicking and everything!
