November 2011: Gobble Gobble

We had such a mild fall that we were able go to to the park through November. We may have needed a blanket to keep Abberz warm, but she didn't seem to mind!
Grandma Ford was in a wedding this month and agreed to babysit the couple's son while they got ready. He is about 4 months younger than Abby. They were both very intrigued by the other. (He liked me a lot too, I got lots of smiles from him.) It was very cute watching the two of them interact.
We were supposed to go to Boston for a weekend to visit Jon, Heather, Will and Bobby and catch a Sabres/Bruins game while we were there, but unfortunately Heather and Bobby got sick and we had to cancel the trip. They got a case of viral pneumonia so it was definitely better for us to stay home even though we were looking forward to seeing them all. (Fortunately they had a smooth recovery and are feeling better now). Coincidentally, Auntie Danielle and Uncle Brian were taking a trip down to Brian's families cabin in the Adirondacks that weekend and invited us to come once they heard that our trip was cancelled. We decided to go and we all had a great weekend! (Also the Sabres got destroyed at the game we were supposed to be at, so it was good that we weren't there after all.) We got to test out our new Kelty hiking back pack while we were there! It was so beautiful there, we can't wait to go back!
Brian and Chris had a fun photo shoot with Abby while we were there. We call the second photo "My Two Dads." Very funny boys.
After the trip Chris was very tired. As was Abby, so they took a nice long nap on the couch with the pups.
We went to a Sabres game the week we got back from the Adirondacks and Grandma Ford watched Abby for us. She told us that Abby was laughing up a storm. I had to see it for myself! So the next day I went over to her house with Abby to see it first hand. They were knocking down her yoga blocks and she couldn't stop giggling (although I think she mostly just loves the silly faces Grandma makes). We also decided to give her sweet potatoes that day, and she loved them! Another food to add to her repertoire.

It was JJ's 5th birthday this month! Crazy!!! We went to his birthday party and colored a puzzle, looked at his cool night vision goggles, had pizza and cake, and played with all of his new toys. I can not believe he is 5 already! Abby got in on the fun and wore a party hat to celebrate!
Abby and I also went to Auntie Denise's baby shower. Abby hung out with all of the other kids that were there. She was just one of the girls! We are so excited for Denise and Omer! Can't wait to meet baby B! Not much longer now!
We went to Cleveland for Thanksgiving, as we do every year! It was so nice to see everyone. The whole gang was there. Unfortunately, my great Uncle Marshall passed away a few weeks before Thanksgiving.  But luckily we were all together to be able to honor, remember, and celebrate his life. Abby chewed on some carrot sticks.
And we took a walk to the park. I borrowed my Uncle Mike's vest to keep us warm. It worked great, but sure did look silly.
After the walk we changed Abby into her first thanksgiving outfit. Gotta love the turkey butt! Abby must've climbed the stairs to the kitchen over 100 times! She's great at spinning around and going down feet first, too. She picked that up really quickly, I was very proud of her!
Jess and Matt were in from California. Jess hadn't seen Abby since Easter and Matt had never met her, so it was great not only for us to get to see them, but for them to get to see her.
Steve, Jordan and Henry were also in town from New York City. Henry really took to Abby. He even offered to send her some of his old toys. It was really sweet!
My Uncle Mike and Aunt Jodi also spent some time with Abby. Grandma Barbee was also there, and Abby loved her necklace. She couldn't get enough of it!
Jamie and Tessa of course spent some time with Abbs. Abby and Jamie both made funny faces.

Grandpa Ross, and Great Grandma and Grandpa Ross all had some fun with Abby as well. It's so nice to live so close to Cleveland so that we can see them close to once a month. It will be great for Abby to get to know her Great Grandparents, and nice for them to get to watch her as she grows.
We also found out that Auntie Aimee and Uncle Drew are expecting!!! We couldn't be happier for them! We are so excited to become an Aunt and Uncle and can't wait for Abby to have a cousin! Aimee has been quite sick so far so hopefully she starts to feel better soon! So exciting!!!
